Project Overview:
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largestgasfired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year. Job Summary:
The Area Manager is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of construction within their assigned area, serving as the primary contact and ensuring effective coordination among contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders. This role oversees site operations, including safety, quality, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and compliance with engineering specifications and corporate policies. Key duties include maintaining client relationships, managing contracts and expenditures, implementing security and community relations plans, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards while delivering the project within scope, time, and budget. #LI-JL1
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership / Supervision
- Proactively engages with their teamâs development through CPM, Competency development/assessment and feedback.
- Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.
Planning / Productivity
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
Tools, Materials & Equipment
- Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
- Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
Safety & Quality
- Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractorsâ performance are in compliance with specifications responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
- Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.
Technical
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
- Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous experience delivering a Simple Cycle power plant (Preferred).
- Has direct hire experience directing and managing all construction aspects of a large construction project.
- 10+ years of construction experience in process plant and/orSimple Cyclepower plant construction.⯠Preference given to those withSimpleCycleexperience.
- Experience managing projects executed under a building trades agreement (union craft professionals) is desirable.

The Physical Side of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching.
