Job Summary

A Site Engineer is part of the project management team responsible foroverseeing and managing construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications.This involves a range of tasks, including project planning, resource management, quality control, and communication with stakeholders. Site Engineers work on the project site(s) they are supporting.

Responsibilities

1. Planning and Preparation:

• Reviewing project plans and specifications: analyze drawings, specifications and other technical documents to understand the project requirements and identify potential issues.
• Conducting site surveys and assessments: evaluate the site's conditions, identify potential hazards, and ensure the site is suitable for construction.
• Preparing site reports and documentation: maintain accurate records of site activities, progress, and encountered issues.

1. On-site Management and Supervision:

• Overseeing construction activities: provide oversight to subcontractors and workers to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications and adherence to safety regulations.
• Project schedules and budgets: aid in monitoring timelines and costs as phases of construction proceed.
• Managing resources: monitor the delivery and use of materials and equipment ensuring efficient resource allocation. Work with materials management team to organize received materials.
• Ensuring quality control: inspect work in progress to ensure it meets the required standards and specifications. Assure that QA/QC checklists and reports are completed, accurate and delivered to appropriate stakeholders. Assure collection of as-builts drawing redlines and construction progress photography.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving: front line resource to address technical difficulties, design changes, or other issues that arise during construction.Liaison between construction and engineering when for issues that must be elevated to offsite resources.

1. Communication and Coordination:

• Communicating with project stakeholders: liaise with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other team members to keep everyone informed of project progress and address any concerns.
• Collaborating with other professionals: work closely with other engineers, designers, and specialists to ensure the project is executed effectively. Communicate arising field concerns back to technical staff that may not elevate to a problem, or other issue.
• Preparing reports and presentations: communicate project status, issues, and solutions to relevant parties, including management and stakeholders. Complete schedule updates.

1. Safety and Compliance:

• Enforcing safety regulations: aid safety personnel in ensuring that all workers on-site adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Managing environmental impact: may also be involved in assessing and mitigating the environmental impact of the construction project.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive and process all invoices and pay requests from suppliers and subcontractors, including M/WBE and subcontractor man-hour reporting. Ensure the necessary back-up documentation is on file before approving invoices for payment. Monitor the entire invoice system to ensure that subcontractors and suppliers are being paid in a timely manner. Follow up with subcontractors and suppliers to receive appropriate back-up documentation.
• Maintain the project job-cost ledgers that support pay requests to the owner.
• Work with the Project Manager to ensure that all subcontractors have the necessary bonding and insurance documents properly completed and on file before their scope of work commences.
• Incorporate change order revisions into the schedule of values.
• Assist in preparation of the monthly job status report.
• Ensure that all project cost items are coded properly according to the chart of accounts and recorded and paid in a timely manner.
• Monitor all reports from the performance reporting system for accuracy and consistency and assist Project Manager in making all necessary revisions.
• Direct a variety of jobsite personnel functions, (e.g., pre-employment/pre-transfer physical exams and drug tests, reference checks, new employee enrollments and orientations, group insurance)
• Assist the Project Manager in a number of functions related to close out of a project to include the final billing to the owner.
• Perform a wide variety of related administrative support tasks, (e.g., preparation of safety reports, equipment inventories and maintenance records). Ensure that all equipment onsite is reported for insurance purposes.
• Establish and maintain the project filing system.
• Perform general office and clerical duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience working in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of accounting software programs. (ex: TRACK, CATS)
• Knowledge of MS Office (ex: Excel)
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.

They will work on underground cable and conduit installation, terminating, and equipment installation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have prior working experience with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Must be able to read blueprints and schematics proficiently to perform duties.
• Must be able to demonstrate former knowledge and experience working on high voltage systems.
• Must have worked as an Industrial Electrician for a minimum of 4 years, and as a supervisor for at least 2 years.
• Must be able to manage and lead a crew of journeyman and helpers on daily and weekly operations.

The HSE (Safety) Specialist is responsible for acting as the front-line safety professional conducting safety inspections, observations, investigations, safety training, and regulatory compliance for OSHA, DOT, and EPA. Insulator/Metal-man

Must be able to apply, remove, and repair insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers and buildings to help control noise and maintain temperatures. Other duties may be assigned.

• Work at heights with no fear.
• Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive applicationto insulation material.
• Determine the amounts and selects required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form), such as fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, and urethane based on material's ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
• Using tape measure or other measuring device, measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using handsaw, knife, or scissors.
• Fit, wrap or attach required insulation material around or to structure, following blueprint specifications.
• Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant or tape to secure insulation to the structure - according to the type of insulation used and structure covered, using staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities:

• On a medium to large (PFE Tier I - <$250m) job, performs the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section.

Leadership/Supervision

• Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback
• Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.

Work Planning & Packaging

• Coordinates with design on constructability issues.

Material Management

• Reviews material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.

Quantities

• Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.

Safety / Quality Control

• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

System Turnover Coordinator  

For Direct Hire

• Possesses responsibility for coordinating between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component/system turnover and assuming responsibility (as required) for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator

• Reviews and approves inspection test plans,
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Owns technical execution of electrical scope—expert knowledge of power distribution, grounding, raceway, cable, terminations, protection, testing, and energization; ensures code and spec compliance.
• Leads the electrical field engineering team—assigns scope, sets technical standards, reviews work products, and develops field engineers to consistent quality and pace.
• Drives electrical readiness and AWP—ensures IFC drawings, materials, access, test packages, and permits are ready to support IWPs and superintendent plans.
• Controls quality, progress, and turnover—validates quantities, supports progress measurement, drives resolution of NCRs, and enables clean system turnover to commissioning.
• Primary technical interface for electrical—coordinates with engineering, procurement, construction, safety, and commissioning; escalates systemic risks early and clearly.
