The Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of construction and fleet equipment. This includes, but is not limited to: vac trailers, skid steers, semi-trucks, pickups, and backhoes. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and experienced with heavy equipment and diesel engines. This role involves travel to various job sites across the country.
Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy equipment and vehicles.
Perform repair and replacement of damaged or worn components.
Operate and test equipment after repairs to verify proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
Dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and hoists.
Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and system checks.
Use diagnostic tools and computerized test equipment to troubleshoot issues and ensure optimal equipment performance.
Interpret and follow technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Adjust and fit bearings and other components as needed to restore mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
Conduct equipment inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failure points using micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
Maintain detailed records of service, repairs, parts usage, and inspections.
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic working with heavy equipment and/or diesel engines.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Proficiency in using diagnostic software, tools, and electronic testing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
Skilled in welding, fabrication, or other trade specialties (preferred but not required).
Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding environments.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently for field work across the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Works directly with the Project Manager and the management team to develop and implement an effective site-specific EHS plan, while adhering to all corporate, divisional, and regional EHS programs and processes.
Assists Project Managers and EHS Managers/Specialists in the coordination of subcontractor EHS protocols, including vendors and owner personnel working on company project(s). Coordinates project EHS programs with subcontractors. Assists in planning and coordinating work to eliminate hazards, minimize risks, and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or property damages.
Coordinates quarterly comprehensive on-site EHS audits. Periodically inspects and evaluates the project site, equipment and processes for compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations, as well as company and owner policies and procedures.
Conducts accident investigations and completes incident reporting for Project Management review.
Accompanies injured employees to treatment and medical evaluation. Ensures all EHS protocols are followed.
