Scaffold Builder Journeyman
This person will construct, assemble, maintain,â¯and dismantles tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures.â¯This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.â¯A minimum of 3 years of experience is required within the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.
â¯Responsibilities:
- Determines type of scaffold needed.
- Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
- Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
- Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
- Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
- Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
- Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
- Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
- Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
- Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
- Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.

Project Overview:
Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on TerraPowerâs Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funding to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. TerraPower, a leading advanced generation technology company founded by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, will be deploying its 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium. The Natrium plant features an advanced, cost-competitive reactor design that is safer, simpler, easier and less costly to construct, less expensive to operate, and able to provide energy that is competitive with fossil fuels. It also features an innovative molten salt energy storage system designed to be complementary to solar and wind power by evening out the peaks and valleys in production when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing. Job Summary:
In this role, you will plan, develop, and review electrical engineering design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. What you will be doing
- Meet with engineering team to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources.
- Review shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
- Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.

- Evaluate weekly and monthly production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead interdisciplinary teams to deliver construction projects
Actively participates in the design and execution of project safety and quality control activities
Assumes responsibility for project staffing and budgetary controls
Assists in the bid package development, pre-qualification activities, and budget preparation
Leads preconstruction meetings and coordinates answers to RFIs
Leads efforts to analyze risk and define schedule related issues, including analysis of long lead materials or equipment which may impact cash flow
Maintains relationships with customers
Analyzes and presents project delivery approaches, develops alternative approaches and facilitates implementation
Oversees project close-out and claim resolution
Serves as the primary contact for senior leadership relative to critical business initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelorâs degree preferred
10+ years of experience
Skillful in estimating, scheduling, budgeting cost, field supervision, financial reporting, and client relationships

What You'll Do
About this role:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing overall administrative, technical, financial, and resource management of the project from initial bid preparation through completion. Responsible for delivering the project safely, in accordance with quality standards, on time, and within budget. Ability to provide guidance and oversee multiple project managers or assistant project managers.
- Knowledge of project management, project controls, estimating, construction, finance, and contract management.
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and activities for Transmission, Distribution, Substation and Drilling of Foundations for electrical and renewable energy.
- Accounting (math and record-keeping) to include the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations as needed to examine construction operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio).
- Familiar with Primavera P6, JD Edwards, Hubble, EcoSys, Incorta, and HCSS heavy job technology platforms.
- Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening) and ability to lead meetings.
- Effective motivational and supervisory skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
- Ability to travel and work on project locations is essential.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, financial reports, and legal documents.

Job DescriptionPCI is seeking motivated Shipyard Workers and Hull Trainees to join our PCI San Diego Marine 108 team in San Diego, CA.This position is responsible for providing labor support for experienced carpenters and/or insulators. In the meantime, employees will develop personal skills. No experience is necessary for this position, but prior construction experience is beneficial. Entry-level personnel will learn insulation removal and/or installation on the job whenever feasible. Employees will also have opportunities to participate in formal skills training classes that help them advance more quickly in both pay and responsibility. Insulation work performed on the job will be reviewed and evaluated by supervisors.
