Position Summary:

The Instrumentation and Controls Field Superintendent (I&C) will play a pivotal role in driving the completion of a high-tech manufacturing facility by leading the team through layout, planning, and execution of their assigned project scope. As a member of the Construction Management team, the I&C Superintendent will be situated in the field and report directly to the Project Superintendent. They will collaborate closely with other Hoffman project team members and subcontractors, providing direction and guidance to ensure project objectives are met while maintaining excellence in safety and demonstrating the highest level of integrity. Must be able to apply, remove, and repair insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers and buildings to help control noise and maintain temperatures. Other duties may be assigned.

• Knowledge in safe and professional testing of piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.

Job Summary

The Electrical Utility Distribution Operations Manager provides administrative and technical management for projects and direction of field operations through subordinate managers. This position manages field operations and works with customers, senior leaders, as well as personnel from various other departments.

• Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
• Interface with field managers, clients, subcontractors, and owners to assure customer satisfaction.
• Plan, coordinate, and/or supervise activities of all operations' employees on assigned projects.
• Confer with project personnel to update project schedules on a weekly basis.
• Keep direct contact with projects in progress by visiting project sites.
• Assist in disputes on all projects, negotiating as required to reach a resolution of construction problems.
• Oversee all bid projects, including P&L responsibility and management of fleet assets dedicated to bid projects.
• Work with Office Manager to ensure compliance with all internal reporting deadlines.
• Prepare weekly revenue and cost reports.
• Prepare and submit invoicing on a weekly basis. Work to resolve all accounts receivable invoices over 51 days.
• Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and interpret policies as required.
• Cultivate and continuously seek to enhance an in-depth understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
• Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs. Liaise with estimating to ensure projects comply with cost, revenue, and schedule.
• Examine estimates of material, equipment, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
• Prepare project reports for management, client, or others, including dollar estimates to complete and variance analysis for significant items.
• Analyze projects for adherence to budget and percentage of profitability.
• Directly supervise 3 to 10 supervisors.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities such as training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints or resolving problems according to company policies.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Engineering, or related field.
• MUST have 5 years of experience Electrical Utility Distribution industry experience i.e. Overhead and Underground Distribution.
• Previous Electrical Utility Distribution supervisory experience.

Preferred

• 8 or more years of related experience, with significant supervisory experience.
• OSHA 10 Certification.

Job Summary

The Overhead Distribution General Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the placement of overhead electrical cables to meet customer needs, ensuring crew safety, keeping track of employee hours, completing daily & weekly safety briefings/inspections, and calls in project utility locations. This position requires extensive knowledge of overhead electrical distribution systems, management of multiple crews, distribution trouble shooting, management of storm crews, scheduling of crews, and coordinating resources. General Foremen read blueprints of projects and are responsible for production efficiency, training, and the safety of their crews. This position oversees multiple overhead utility line teams and coordinates with both internal/external departments to manage logistic support.

• Obtain all the necessary materials for the job, and ensure all permits and licenses are in place.
• Oversee work related to each project and assume full responsibility for its quality and timeliness.
• Compliance with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to MasTec or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
• Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections.
• Disseminates information and ensures understanding of safety briefings.
• Perform aerial tasks, such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing. This is only allowed if no critical work is being performed that the Foreman is not needed as a Qualified observer.
• Place overhead electrical cables.
• Connect wires and cables to terminals and attach/detach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
• Coordinate and supervise daily tasks for crew members related to digging and placing product.
• Perform construction work, such as digging holes, placing cable, air pipe, and inner duct work in various types of conduit systems and open excavations.
• Climb utility poles and/or use aerial lift truck to place cables on poles per system design.
• Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work.
• Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
• Call in utilities located at each project site.

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 7 years of experience.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.

Preferred

• 10 or more years of experience, including extensive experience supervising and training skilled labor.
• OSHA 20 Certification.
