Position Overview:

The Insulation Metal Mechanic Foreman will be working mostly outdoors in industrial construction environments, performing a variety of tasks depending on the needs of the job scope. The Insulation Metal Mechanic Foreman will be expected to work with various metals to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products. This involves tasks like measuring, cutting, bending, welding, and soldering metal sheets to create structures, components, or systems.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products.
• Use hand tools safely.
• Weld various metals using electric, gas, arc, etc.
• Inspect angles, gap allowances, and use precision measuring instruments.
• Use a grinder, hand file, or other tools to remove rough spots from work piece.
• Cut materials using tools to size to ensure adequate fit and quality of welds.

Position Overview:

The Mechanical Superintendent oversees the daily mechanical construction activities at the work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials and progress of the project. The Supervisor needs to be familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures in specified discipline. Must be able to read prints and do take offs for piping, steel and civil jobs. Ability to schedule out manpower as well as deal with emergency work with little to no notice. Manage Foreman in the field along with tracking the progress of the jobs. Lead the team in installation, assembly, dismantlement, maintenance, troubleshoot, and repairs. Strong knowledge of conveyors and pumps a must. Candidate must be able to set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment in a safe manner. Service and fix a variety of machines within the industrial setting to keep plant in continuous production.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Supervise daily Pipe fitting, welding, and light mechanical/rigging activities
• Assess workforce, material, tool, and construction equipment needs and arranges for these components to support the needs of the project
• Able to analyze productivity trends and adjust work activities to optimize production
• Review cost reports and projections and act to effectively manage job costs to levels within the contract budget
• Develop solutions for routine problems using defined processes and own experience and able to develop and implement work.
• Enforce jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and the Company's Safety Program
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Possess the knowledge and experience to layout and fit pipe
• Knowledge of welding various metals using SMAW, GTAW processes
• Lay out projects and execute in effective manner
• Inspect angles, gap allowances using precision measuring instruments
• Ability to perform work at above ground elevations while wearing a harness and other protective equipment
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day
• Additional Duties as assigned

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive packing slips from emails/paper submissions and receipt in system

• Receive invoices from emails/paper submissions & route as needed for approvals

• Maintain visibility of tasks within system & update status regularly

• Support finance by providing month end cost accruals

• Assist with obtaining PCard reconciliations

• Request vendor setups when required

• Request quick checks as needed

• Timekeeping distribution (for jobs)

• Acquire daily timesheets & transition to weekly timesheet (as needed)

• Verify payroll information: trade code, union, apprentice status (where applicable)

• Payroll submission & distribution duties.

• Files timesheet backup according to timekeeping procedure.

• Confirms accurate and thorough completion of all activities relating to servicing the customer from contract creation to billing.

• Collaborates with contracts, management, and billing staff to ensure orders are flowing properly and assists with delayed/missing items

• Provide support for quote creation when needed

• Document and file according to BrandSafway standards

• Maintain necessary reports and forms relative to position

• Prepare for audits through notetaking and proper documentation/filing

• Perform other organizational and clerical support tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent required.

• One year of relevant experience a plus. Accounting experience preferred, but not required

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Word)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient mathematics

Physical Demands:

• Throughout the functions of this position, the employee must be able to and comfortable with talking, listening, standing, and walking. Because this position requires computer use, the employee will need to be able to sit for and spend extended periods of time looking at computer screens and typing.
