Review and analyze piping systems and components for thermal flexibility, vibration, supports, and other factors.
Ensure piping systems conform to applicable codes and client standards.
Perform ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3 formal stress analysis using CAESAR II software.
Conduct informal (visual) stress analysis for large and small-bore piping systems.
Work with piping designers to optimize pipe routing on piping design including specifying required pipe supports.
Specify engineered support equipment such as expansion bellows, spring cans, constant tension hangars, snubbers, and engineered piping supports including detailed review of vendor equipment design documents.

Inspect existing utilities are properly identified and exposed, to ensure piping is correctly installed and fused, job meets customer specifications, and it meets company quality standards. Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work. Keep the job(s) moving on time, clean up, and perform job restoration at the end of job. Communicate with customers and inspectors. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Qualifications Minimum A High School Degree, or equivalent A minimum of 3 years of experience with gas pipeline construction or maintenance, with 2 years of supervisory experience Be proficiency in fusing, tapping, pressure testing, and purging Must have a CDL Class A license, or obtain one within 30 days of hire date OSHA 10 Certification Must have knowledge of gas, and how to safely work with it Knowledge of customerâs specifications, being able to read and interpret prints Be proficiency in all phases of the line in construction Must follow proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to MasTec and/or project customer, whichever standard is higher at all times Ability to talk with customersâ inspectors and have a sense of customer service Must have experience in operating heavy equipment and general construction Ability to visually inspect fusion or welded joints, spot utilities, and locate marks on the ground by color Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships Precise hand-eye coordination Ability to identify and distinguish colors Ability to work outdoors, even in extreme weather conditions. Preferred Previous experience with Atmos Gas is preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
