· High school diploma or associateâs degree with drafting courses
· 5+ years of experience and knowledge in the design requirements for respective disciplines as they apply to the Energy & Chemical industry.
· Must have 3D modeling experience.
· Strong Piping Design skills in accordance with Industry standards and codes
· Ability to self-manage the execution workflow and quality process for small caps projects
· Basic ability and understanding of recognizing project change and basic understanding of change management procedure with ability to convey to Project leads.
· Basic knowledge of pipe spec development and workflow including understanding of conditioning requirements, piping participation, and knowledge of requirements to add components in 3D software.
· More advanced layout design on a broader selection of equipment
· More advanced operational and maintenance requirements for instrumentation and equipment including an understanding of differences in technologies and operability.
· Consult others as qualified experts and capable of making some key technical decisions on a project

· More advanced knowledge of a FEL/FEED staged process including differences on execution between early FEL/FEED and detailed design.
· Strong communication skills required to provide effective inter-discipline, client, vendor, and construction coordination on multiple projects as well as the ability to clearly communicate information and ideas in writing especially as part of execution planning

Salary/Pay Rate:
In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act, the expected salary range for this Illinois position,Designer II Piping,is between $94,900.00 and $133,640.00 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position will include visits to maintenance sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on sites. On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large

Responsibilities:
Acquiring, integrating and managing all of the engineering and design documentation for the Estimating Department from conception through completion of the Bid
Review drawings and notify Estimating staff of changes such as bid date is extended, this replaces all of the drawings, this impacts only architectural trades, etc.
Manage and be the liaison of the subcontractor outreach programs to all subcontractors and suppliers both large and small businesses (in coordination with compliance as relates to small and disadvantage businesses)
Inform and monitor teams of secure document procedures when required on projects.
Do preliminary reviews of Prequalification submissions from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure completeness, prior to Financial reviews from the accounting department.This review incudes ensuring all fields are completed as required and assisting sub with the system if they have questions.
Management of Subcontractor Database/Invitation to Bid programs. This includes ensuring database is kept up to date. Assist subcontractors with updating their information and access to the site. Work with bid teams to develop Invitation to bid and send out ITBâs and provide access to subcontractors for the bidding documents.
Manage and Maintain the Customer Relations Management System for the Building Division, Transportation Group, or Water Groups.Work with Group Lead CRM Users to ensure that their information is entered correctly. Train and Manage CRM users across all divisions to best utilize the toolâs capabilities. Work with leadership, special committees, and consultants to support execution of key initiatives.
Maintains expertise in computer and software skills
Performs research by contacting potential bidders such as MBE, DBE, WBE, SBE. Etc. Contacts those DBEâs most likely to bid on a project and acquires appropriate forms from DBE that may need to be submitted at bid time. May help contact unions to solicit or provide information needed to complete the bid.
Updates vendor lists and uploads all documents into Estimating System. Provides output from the system as needed. Enters all estimates into system and acquires any missing information from owners, project or estimating staff.
Provides general support for the Estimating Department.
Support Estimating Leadership in Corporate meetings.
Qualifications:

Position Description:
The Field Engineer (FE) works directly for the Superintendent and is expected to exercise judgment and discretion in making recommendations, implementing policies and procedures and handling a wide variety of matters in the field. The position is normally, but not necessarily preparatory to becoming an Office Engineer or Project Engineer. The primary purpose of the position is to proactively aid the Superintendent in front-line field management. In addition, the position requires a considerable amount of work, responsibility, persistence, problem solving ability and good attitude, because the FE is responsible for the majority of the layout on a project, supervision of trade workers and subcontractor employees, as well as lift drawings, safety, and quality control responsibilities.
