Instrumentation & Electrical Foreman

Must be able to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrument devices to ensure specified operating performance using hand tools, testing and calibrating instruments and equipment and precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprint schematics and testing specifications. Must have some knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs. Other duties may be assigned. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings.
• Calibrates, installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices.
• Cuts, bends and installs tubing needed for the proper installation of the instrumentation device.
• When needed, reads and understands quality control manuals and testing specifications in order to obtain data needed to test or calibrate specific devices.
• Sets controls to regulate factors, such as current flow, timing cycle, pressure or vacuum, or temperature according to specifications.
• As needed, disassembles instrument or device in order to determine cause of defective operation or failure.
• Rejects malfunctioning devices and routes to specified departments for repair or salvaging of survivable parts.
• Layout, fabricate and install tubing and tub trays.
• Apply knowledge of mathematics to instrumentation, such as ratio and proportions, numbers with power of 10’s, algebra equations, English-to-metric conversion, inches of water to PSI, inches of mercury to PSI, etc.
• Read blueprints, schematics and loop drawings and prepare job reports.
• Assemble and disassemble all types of electronic process controls, pneumatic controls and hydraulic systems and components.
• Calibrate equipment using common calibration procedures and be able to read, interpret, apply and know where to find other procedures.
• Understand the principles of pH and redox and equipment needed to measure them and be able to control the pH and redox of a liquid.
• Understand steam and how it reacts to different situations, (e.g. saturation properties).
• Work with the principles of chemistry and physics required in instrumentation such as specific gravity, density of liquids and solids, mechanical advantages, proportions of liquids, melting points, freezing points, boiling points of liquids, etc.
• Troubleshoot and check out electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment.
• Understand fundamental instrumentation loops and how they function as a loop, and what the function of each component part is in each type of loop.
• Understand common types of chemical plant process equipment such as distillation columns, heat exchangers, boilers, turbines and compressors.
• Apply the procedures for measuring pressure level, flow, temperature, weight, density, heat flux, humidity and moisture, etc.
• Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.

We are seeking an Industrial Insulator for maintenance work in Pass Christian, MS. Covers, boilers, pipes, tanks and refrigeration units with insulating materials, such as fiberglass, cork, plastic and magnesia to reduce loss or absorption of heat, prevent moisture condensation and to deaden sound. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Basic knowledge of Insulator hand tools, tape measure, cutting tools, power tools
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:
Wires prefabricated fiberglass covering around steam and hot water piping; trowels mastic or brushes cement on insulation to obtain a smooth finish and covers piping with cloth; fits thermoblock and magnesia-block insulation around insulating boilers, evaporators and turbines; wires insulation on machinery and staples wire netting over insulation; trowels cement on wire netting to protect insulating material; wires cork on salt water, refrigeration and air-conditioning piping and cements cloth over insulating material to obtain a smooth finish; cuts sheets of insulation into sections; fits and cements sections around fittings; covers gas piping of refrigeration or air conditioning systems with molded plastic; fabricates detachable insulation for valves or similar fittings; wires detachable covers on valves or fittings; installs fiber glass or spun glass on ventilation systems to deaden sound and prevent vibration.

Foreman

The purpose of this job is to provide supervision and coordination of workers (both skilled and unskilled) engaged in various types of construction projects, such as highway structures, clearing right-of-way, pile driving, preparing subgrade, laying road surface, installing curb, installing underground utilities, traffic control, concrete paving of streets and related lime and dirt work, etc. The goals of this position include scheduling work to meet timetables in a safe manner, per the plans and specifications, and to meet estimated cost. Planning

• Execute established procedures for the ordering self-perform materials, supplies, and small tools from approved suppliers. Ensure timely requisition is made for needed materials and equipment.

Cost Performance

• Inspect work in progress and ensure that it is performed within the tolerances established. Take corrective action when tolerances and/or overall performance standard are not being maintained.

Relationships

• Ability to manage crew into an effectively coordinated working unit, promoting a motivating atmosphere
• Foster and promote the training and development of subordinates through various on-the-job training opportunities, company-sponsored training programs
• Recommend personnel actions, such as promotions, discharges, disciplinary measures, initiate and suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve goals
• Supervise the work of subcontractors to ensure compliance with plan, specifications, and schedules.

Safety

We are seeking an Ironworker for a maintenance position in Pass Christian, MS. The Ironworker position works as a member of a crew to raise, place and unite girders, columns and other structural-steel members to form completed structures and frameworks. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Knowledge of ironworker tools and how to use them
• Rigging skills including wire rope slings
• Some job sites may require NCCER certification
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
• NO relocation available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in/near the area

Functional Requirements:

Off loads deliveries of structural material from hg the fabricator; sets up and breaks down hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members; fastens steel members to cable of hoist; signals worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel member; guides member or rides on member in order to guide it into position; pulls or pries steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device; forces members into final position; aligns holes in member with corresponding holes in previously placed member; verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members; bolts aligned members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted; cuts steel members to make alterations.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
