Bechtelâs Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. Job Summary:
As part of the Project Team under the direction of the Project Manager, performs a broad range of administrative responsibilities requiring accuracy, sound judgment, initiative, discretion, and knowledge of protocol. The position supports both routine and complex activities, including coordinating travel, preparing expense reports, and drafting professional correspondence. Success in this role requires the ability to anticipate issues, manage changing priorities, and contribute to the overall efficiency and organization of the team. #LI-SM2
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain a hard copy or electronic calendar for manager(s).
- Independently schedule and reschedule appointments based on managerâs commitments and priorities providing adequate detail to individual items.
- Meet regularly with manager(s) to stay informed of key issues and coordinate workload priorities.
- Coordinate requests from clients, mangers, and in-house staff, determining action on important or emergency matters or directing then to the necessary contact in absence of manager.
- Coordinate travel arrangements (domestic and international) and prepare detailed itineraries.â¯
- Manage expense reports through Concur.
- Organize facilities and catering for conferences, meetings, training, or employee events.â¯
- Create, organize, and distribute presentations or materials needed for meetings. â¯
- Coordinate special activities and programs with managerâs input and approval. â¯
- Compose routine correspondence for appropriate signature.
- Process project correspondence, conference notes, & meeting minutes.
- Assist with internal moves and space changes.
- Collect, review, and distribute hard copy and electronic mail. Independently handles mail not requiring managerâs attention.
- Useâ¯Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) â¯to electronically process project records.
- Order supplies and other items as required.
- Other duties assigned by manager(s).
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelorâs Degree from an accredited University and 1 year of relative work experience or 6 years of related work experience in lieu of degree.

What you will be doing
- Manages all aspects of the project, including construction, budget, and cash management for a single assigned project to ensure compliance with the project contract and owner needs.

- Reviews and approves all internal and external media news releases regarding the project.
- Ensures project safety reviews and procedures are followed by conducting weekly safety checks and engaging in safety meetings and monthly review meetings. Supports the safety programs of the project and owner safety programs.
- Reviews and approves staffing and equipment needs for efficient and effective project production.
- Participates in the dispute resolution process with support from internal legal counsel.
- Provides input on equipment procurement methods and contracts to ensure efficient and effective project production.
- Leads project closeout procedures, finalizing contract paperwork, obtaining retainages, and working with management to resolve any project claims. Leads the project debrief cycle to review all aspects of project work and completion.
What we are looking for
- 10+ yearsâ experience in construction project management and 5+ yearsâ experience in managing personnel required.
- Bachelorâs Degree in Engineering or related field highly regarded.
- Must hold a valid Driverâs License

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops a baseline schedule while coordinating with project management, superintendents and subcontractors.
Uses established best practices and scheduling software to implement, maintain and analyze the project schedule. Includes coding and loading of resources, loading of costs and loading of general sequencing information
Coordinates all project controls to assess risk in accordance with established best practices and standards. Prepares risk and impact assessments of any changes to the schedule and presents to project team
Analyzes all changes to project schedule and the impact on cost and timeline.
Ensures all project change orders and project delays are documented, analyzed and reviewed.
Communicates impact on the project timeline and cost
Leads all project scheduling meetings ensuring appropriate representation of project management. Prepares detailed weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and ensures distribution to appropriate staff
Works with accounting personnel to forecast and manage the project budget and its relationship to the project schedule
Performs claim mitigation, estimating and prepares models of what-ifâs and possible contingency plans
QUALIFICATIONS
Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred
3-5 years of project scheduling experience
Primavera experience required (P6 preferred)
Understand concepts of baseline schedule, progress schedule, recovered schedule, total float, critical path, predecessors, successors, near critical paths, float trending, percent complete, float ownership, and constraints
Claim experience required
Time impact analysis experience required
Ability to make confident, timely, and fact based decisions on a broad range of resources
Candidates must demonstrate multi-tasking experience working in large teams and solving complex problems

As a Quality Control Manager, you will ensure the project is built within contract document specifications, owner requirements, and comply with local, state, and federal building codes. You will coordinate with other trades, process daily reports of project progress and adhere to all guidelines issued by the owner. Responsibilities

Project Overview:
Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the worldâs largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington state.The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOEâs most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities â Pretreatment, Low- Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory â as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities. The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and AECOM. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. Selected applicant needs to be able and willing to work weekends as needed.
Job Summary:
The Rigging Engineer will be responsible for executing work assignments as requested by the Area Superintendents. Scope includes the support of planning rigging activities for equipment lifting and setting. #LI-BH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares rigging plans, calculations, and specifications for rigging material and lift equipment under the direction of the Field Engineering Manager (FEM) or Certified Rigging Engineer (CRE) Serves as a point of contact for preparation of lift and haul plans.
- Assists the Rigging Superintendent (RS) and/or CRE by providing the design support necessary for the rigging plan development.
- Monitors general project rigging work operations to ensure rigging is performed in accordance with approved rigging plans.
- Reviews and approves heavy or oversize/overweight haul plans and medium, critical, or heavy lift plans (including subcontract rigging submittals) in accordance with procedures prior to the start of the work.
- Selects crane(s), lifting hardware, and equipment necessary for safe work execution of medium, heavy, and critical lifts.
- Confirms, for heavy and critical lifts, a BNI-WTP design engineer has reviewed and approved the design calculations of equipment lifting lugs, trunnions, tailing lugs, and other lifting attachment points for adequacy and compliance with the design specifications.
- Provides operational and technical direction to rigging crews and to assigned construction engineers and construction personnel, including craft, regarding rigging-related construction processes, procedures, and requirements.
- May provide operational guidance to senior management team.
- Maintains contact with engineering regarding plant layout, foundation design, vessel/module designs, provision for lifting, and verification of the suitability of imposed loadings.
- Works closely with area superintendent and field engineering regarding constructability, construction equipment requirements (including crane sizes and locations), scheduling, ground preparations and temporary facilities (including crane pads and haul routes), required site sterilization, crane layout, and sequencing.
- Plans lifts, sequence work, and direct and approve lift plans.
- Must have sound knowledge and experience in rough terrain, all terrain and crawler cranes. Structural steel installation experience.
- Assists with maintaining contact with Traffic & Logistics regarding feasibility of heavy/oversize haul and barging/heavy-lift shipping and marine operations, temporary dock facilities and haul routes to site.
- Assists with maintaining contact with Subcontracts regarding scope of work and technical reviews of submissions for lifting and heavy/oversize transport works.
- Works with vendors and subcontractors, providing subject matter expertise in meetings and reviews regarding the execution of subcontract lifting and/or heavy oversized site transport.
- Works closely with safety personnel regarding rigging-related safety procedures and requirements.
- Establishes working relationships with client management as required.
- Maintains contact with permitting authorities and other government and regulatory agencies and statutory authorities regarding transport and/or lifting of equipment.
- Assesses technical proposals of subcontractor bid packages for lifting and abnormal transport.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelorâs degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related subject from an accredited university and 5-8 years of Field Engineering or related experience or, in lieu of a degree, 9-12 years of directly related experience.
- Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge.)
- Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concernsâincluding sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries âare subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.
- Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbingladders, climbing scaffolding, usingfall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very smalland/or confined spaces.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- A Professional Registered/Chartered Engineer, preferably in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, and four years of continuous experience spent in developing and producing Critical Risk Haul/Lift Rigging Plans for rigging work operation activities, and at least two years of field experience directing and supervising rigging operations on construction projects.
- An advanced broad based theoretical knowledge in lifting/hauling equipment and techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and legislation: the candidate is required to be fully knowledgeable and familiar with the legislation and code applying to lifting devices, rigging and heavy haul transport operations.
- An intermediate ability in structural design as it relates to lifting equipment and basic structures.
- An advanced understanding of soil mechanics as it relates to lifting equipment and advanced ability in matting design to distribute crane loads into the ground. Intermediate/Advanced CAD drafting ability (AutoCAD preferable).
- Prior knowledge of Bechtelâs rigging planning and execution standards and requirements is preferable.
- Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering in the use of lifting equipment, alternative heavy lifting systems, mobile gantries, jacking, tailing, rigging equipment, and load distribution systems, including an understanding of transport/transfer of equipment, soil mechanics. Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility. Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Bechtelâs âZero Accidentsâ safety program.
- Bechtel Certified Rigging Engineer (CRE) certification.
