Position Summary:The PurchasingAgentwill work within the Purchasing department and will report toaPurchasing Manager. The PurchasingAgentisa vital position working with various project teams to buy out work.Key components of the position are to build Trade Contractor relationships, issue and manage RFPs,negotiatescopes of construction workand draft contracts for issuance to successful bidders.This position will be fully in-officeat the Seattle Main Office.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000

Essential Responsibilities:

• Draft and issue requestforproposal packages for construction project procurement.
• Participate inpre-bid and post-bid meetings.
• Manage the bid package process, including advertise, issue addenda, and manage the bid package processes.
• Receive and compare bids for bid packages, including cost and scope negotiation.
• Draft and issue subcontracts, purchase agreements, and purchase orders.
• Attend and support local outreach efforts in the subcontracting community.
• Provide internal support to project teams and operations as needed.
• Respond to subcontractor inquiries.
• Maintain subcontractor and project information records.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Experience and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in a construction related profession, business administration, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent work experience required.
• At least two (2) years of purchasing experience preferred, including an understanding of the Washington GC/CM Bidding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conducts regular site inspections, recording safe and unsafe conditions using Predictive Solutions software
• Performs administrative tasks related to project specific safety binder and document storage systems
• Coordinates, schedules, and facilitates subcontractor’s Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings
• Acts as a resource for field operations for Federal (OSHA) state and local safety and health regulations including NFPA and JCAHO Standards

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in field of Construction Health and Safety. Working knowledge of Federal and State safety and health regulations, as well as local building code issues for safety and health
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Safety preferred but not required
• Qualified OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer
• Willingness to achieve CHST designation within two years
• Demonstrated expertise with construction and safety technologies and practices
