Position Overview:

Site Safety Technician will be responsible for implementing safety, health, and environmental programs at assigned jobsite. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the daily toolbox talk.

• Communicate trends and incidents.

• Support in the development JSP for high-risk activities happen daily.

• Review and assess all active jobs and coach as needed.

• Complete daily step card, select different crews if available.

• Complete a daily 2 SOS, select different crews if available.

• Complete 2 good catch/near hit cards and submit daily.

• Attend the daily close meeting.

• Knowledgeable on RCRA hazardous waste regulations and IATA.

• Knowledgeable on Machine tool operation and guarding.

• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses at the job site. Assist Area EHS Manager to identify root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to job site EHS activities, including inspections, training, incident reports.

• Complete Certified Safe Leader training within 3 months of hire.

• Complete certified facilitator training.

• Facilitate & participate in emergency response planning and drills.

Qualifications:

• OSHA 30 construction certification or greater, HSA Certification or greater

• 3+ years of construction experience or a combination of an Industry certification and practical experience

• 1st Aid/CPR and AED trained

Responsibilities:

• Take charge of prospecting for bid opportunities in the sales territory.

• Develop relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, developers, mechanical contractors, manufacturing facilities, architects, and government agencies that produce opportunities to bid for and win work.

• Use Salesforce software to identify opportunities to bid for upcoming work; use Salesforce software to accurately document ongoing efforts to bid and win work. Review and qualify leads coming in from Construct Connect and tag them into Salesforce as appropriate.

• Communicate to customers and potential customers how our products can meet their specified needs – and how our products can meet foreseeable needs the customer may not yet have identified.

• Visit job sites to gather information necessary to prepare price quotes.

• Working with the sales managers and the construction managers, assemble equipment & material lists, estimate man hours, identify drug testing and orientation requirements, and determine freight requirements for delivery/return; and assemble that information in SafQuote to create price quotes for submittal to customers.

• Working with the branch contracts manager, usher new contracts through the BrandSafway contracting process.

• Working with the project controls team, ensure billing is rapid and accurate and that change orders for extra work are captured promptly for billing.

• Be on hand at job sites as new jobs get underway so that construction crews have clear direction.

• Working with the BrandSafway prequalification team, get BrandSafway prequalified with new customers and get us on bidder lists for upcoming work.

• Assess bid opportunities for “upsell” potential for the full range of BrandSafway access products — Quikdeck, HAKI, mast climbers, construction elevators, sidewalk protection, trash chutes, loading docks, shoring, etc.

• Report activity weekly to the regional and branch sales managers.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in scaffold and work access sales, particularly contracts involving labor.

• Prior experience cost estimating scaffold and work access projects.

• Prior experience with Salesforce in a construction configuration.

• Prior construction industry experience.

• An engineering, drafting, or construction estimating background.

• Intermediate or better capability with Microsoft Excel.

• Direct hands-on experience as a scaffold builder or foreman.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Civil Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Construction Management or a related field preferred.

Scaffold Builder Journeyman - Austin Industrial

Austin Industrial is a merit shop, employee-owned company and has been a provider of construction, maintenance, plant services, turnaround and specialty services to the oil, gas and chemical, energy (power and ethanol), and manufacturing industries for more than 60 years.

Scaffold Builder Journeyman

This person will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantles tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required within the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.

 Responsibilities:

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.

• Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.

• Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.

The Internal Audit function is evolving, focusing more on the development of modern audit expertise and experience to serve as a true business partner for the audit committee and executive leaders, while still maintaining its commitment to talent development, both within and outside the function. A key dimension of this role will be to coordinate with the Vice President, Internal Audit to manage the audit process for assigned audits, including risk assessment, planning, audit execution and reporting results, including:

• Collaborate with BrandSafway leadership to identify and evaluate risks and drive a risk-based audit approach.

• Identify systemic root causes from one audit to the next, to assist with end-to-end remediation and strategic adjustment.

• Act as a trusted advisor to the Vice President, Internal Audit, for the implementation and maintenance of a world-class, modernized Internal Audit function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee a portfolio of assigned audits and delivery of findings/ recommendations for Finance and Operational risks.

• Oversight will include managing audit teams and engaging in audit activities such as (1) executing risk assessments and risk-based, business-wide audits plans in a timely manner, (2) clearly defining the objectives and scope of each review, (3) employing critical thinking and appropriate testing methodologies, and (4) sharing detailed findings and recommendations to mitigate risk.
