The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year. The candidate will act as the Piping Field Superintendent on the CCGT Project in Pecos, Texas. The candidate will locate on a long-term assignment to the project in Pecos, TX. This position is contingent upon project award.
The Piping Field Superintendent provides onsite leadership for mechanical construction activities primarily focused on the projectâs T350s, ensuring all work is executed safely, meets technical requirements, and aligns with project schedule and budget objectives. This role directs craft labor and subcontractors, oversees daily field operations, and drives workforce planning, progress reporting, and cost/schedule performance. Working closely with engineering, construction management, and project controls, the Field Superintendent resolves constructability issues, supports the development of work scopes, and ensures effective use of automation tools and project procedures. Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States by far â enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year.
As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors engineering and building the facility. We are also managing procurement of about $1 Billion in goods and services.
Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway.
The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind, the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete, Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium.

In this role, you will lead, implement, and maintain global construction field welding programs and provide specialized welding engineering support. You will manage, inspect, and monitor the welding test lab, the rod room, the weld heat treatment program, and the laboratory quality plan. Your technical advice will help ensure defects, behaviors, and other issues are rectified prior to final inspection. #LI-NP1
⢠Coordinates work activities for Project Field Engineer and the Lead Field Welding engineer in implementing the site welding program on medium projects
⢠Implements and maintains Bechtel Field Welding program for all welding operations.
⢠Provides technical assistance to field superintendents and crafts.
⢠Ensures that all supervision and craft personnel involved in welding operations are educated and aware of applicable code and project requirements.
⢠Provides welding engineering support to ensure construction meets all code and Bechtel procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Periodically conducts comprehensive EHS assessments. Recommends to project management corrective measures for unsafe conditions.
Provides training and education to Company personnel regarding EHS requirements and recommends advancements to materials.
Assists project management in the coordination of subcontractor EHS protocols, vendor and owner personnel working on company project. Coordinates project EHS programs with subcontractors. Assists in planning and coordinating work to minimize risks, and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or property damages.
Conducts accident investigations and completes incident reporting for Project Management review.
Establishes hospital and clinical care facilities for each project.
Accompanies injured employees to treatment and medical evaluation. Ensures all EHS protocols are followed.
Advises Project Management on Industrial Hygiene protocols; performs Environmental Monitoring.
Administers the Companyâs Drug-Free Workplace Policy, ensuring proper testing for Pre-Employment, Vehicle Authorization, Reasonable Suspicion, Post-Accident, Random, and Follow-Up.
Facilitates orientation of all project employees to the EHS practices required by the Company.
Provides a weekly safety update to EHS Leadership.
Administers the corporate SPAT process on assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, Bachelorâs degree or equivalent preferred

This position provides oversight for contract management activities on Fluor projects or as lead contract manager on individual Fluor contracts. This role assures, through assigned contract administrators, compliance with all statutes, regulations, and contract terms and conditions. In this role, you will participate in the design and preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, graphic presentations and Plant Design and Piping (PD&P) drawings. You will originate basic deliverables and documents and verify compliance of pipe configurations and manufacturersâ drawings. Your efforts will contribute to ensuring PD&P design meets industry best practices and compliance standards.
