In the Project Manager II role, you are responsible for contributing to the overall safety, direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects from initial budget through project closeout.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee and manage entire site management team (Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Quality Manager, Safety Manager, etc.)

The Safety Engineer is a part of the Pepper Construction Company Safety Department. This position is primarily field oriented and is structured to ensure safe work practices are implemented and enforced on Pepper Construction projects. The Safety Engineer position takes a leadership role in developing and promoting our Pepper Safety Culture. EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety programs and site safety management.
• Experience with heavy civil/horizontal construction projects involving excavation and earth moving, heavy concrete, underground utilities, etc. is important.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (OHST) preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
• Familiarity with safety management systems and software.
• Strong knowledge of construction and industrial safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and facilitate safety training sessions and meetings.

General Job Description:

Assists in the administration and overall supervision of project safety and accident and fire protection programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Functional Requirements:

Scaffold Builder - Carpenter

This person will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantles tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required in the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.

 Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• Other duties as assigned.
