Scaffold Builder - Leadman

This person will supervise in the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantlingoftubular scaffolding or other temporary structures.Other duties may be assigned.

The Physical Side of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. Project Overview:

Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI), Bechtel’s government services business, is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.UPF is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.

The UPF project works on a 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is: Monday - Thursday from 7:00am to 5:30pm. Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Job Summary:

In this role, you will participate in defining facility/system functions, behaviors, and other design requirements. You will perform system-level design verification and test requirements specifications. You will compile, adjust, and correlate data that will develop your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard systems engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Major Responsibilities:

• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard Systems Engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.​
• Develop system models using Model-Based Systems Engineering methods and tools (e.g., IBM® Rationale DOORS®, or Innoslate by Spec Innovations)​.
• Defines facility/system functions, behaviors, and other design requirements, prepares the criteria documents and coordinates and facilitates technical discussion to resolve system design issues​.
• Coordinates system-level design verification, requirements verification, test requirements specifications, and requirements flow down and traceability​.
• Coordinates work and collaborate with other engineering disciplines​.
• Provides technical assistance to other Systems personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues.​
• Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Systems requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's degree (Systems, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will plan and conduct systems engineering work, and will review and prepare information on requirements management, verification and validation, functional analysis, and other key documents. You will prepare estimates, work plans, and assist with performance reporting. Your technical expertise and coordination will ensure outcomes meet client and project requirements.

This position is for a Systems Engineer (SE) to coordinate the delivery of the systems engineering products, focusing on scope alignment, schedule, customer integration, change control, and delivering to exceed customer expectations. This role will execute systems engineering and configuration management activities including management, organization and verification of complex design requirements, within a model-based systems engineering environment.

The SE plays a critical role in the delivery of the Requirements Management and Model Based Systems Engineering program forBechtel work products and designs, as well as for coordination of the scope and integration of work with internal and external stakeholders.The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.

Major Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for executing systems engineering work assignments concerned with specialized unique engineering requirements in a global business unit. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, and may involve development of novel concepts, approaches, and solutions. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in executing requirements management, model-based systems engineering, industrial process modeling, and design development experience producing design documents for government customers in accordance with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide. The candidate will be interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and the client in the management and verification of the facility requirements. The position will be responsible for developing key systems engineering documents and must have a broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to engineering and construction. In addition, it will be required that the candidate have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), can be the “face” of Bechtel, promoting our leadership, quality, and safety values, to external partners including vendors, construction companies, and other subcontractors. • Identifying and quantifying changes in baseline scope and supporting baseline change authorization documentation.

• Accountable to capture, scrutinize and deconflict requirements across stakeholders and to subsequently assure delivery of hierarchical requirements management documents.

Education and Experience Requirements:

BS degree in Engineering (Systems, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related), from an accredited university, and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
