The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year. Position Description:
The Area Superintendent (AS) is responsible for supervision of a specific area of the project. The AS is responsible for establishing and achieving the project goals related to all areas of field management including schedule, budget, safety, quality, and the development of personnel. The Digital Engineering Group promotes a holistic approach to design and construction model-based services and technologies. The group defines the company strategy around the use of BIMs, data integration across models and departments, and cultural change across project teams to realize significant risk reduction on construction cost and schedule.
This BIM/VDC Manager is responsible for managing Digital Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction, and Plan + Control for Suffolkâs Mission Critical business and brings together BIM, reality capture, and field technology to transform the way we plan, build and deliver Mission Critical projects. The role works closely with project teams to implement BIM in the field, perform QA/QC verification, and capture site conditions using advanced tools like laser scanning, photogrammetry, robotic total stations and drones. Position Responsibilities
Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
Identify all tools required for tasks.
Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
Construct, re-enforce and dismantle pre-constructed concrete forms.
Build and construct wooden forms.
Work on miscellaneous construction projects such as but not limited to building decks and steps, building bulletin boards, and building any additional wooden structures.
Clean up/housekeeping of work areas.
Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
Required Qualifications
Must have 4+ years working as a carpenter or carpenter helper on an industrial construction project.
Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed.
Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
Current Zachry or Zachry ROFâed employee.
Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
National Center for Construction Education and Researchâs (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
Formal/Technical education.
Experience working with concrete and rebar.
Reporting to:
This position does not have any direct reports; however, the position will work closely with and oversee on occasion of helper and labor positions. The position will hold a positional and expertise authority of the helper and laborer positions.
