Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Contract Administration

• Know prime contracts and assure staff execution of the requirements.

• Review productivity reports with project teams at regular intervals and ensure that management is informed on cost and schedule results for the work and how it compares with the budget. Take appropriate measures to ensure productivity is equal to or better than estimate productivity.
• Profit/loss accountability to include proper project controls and proactive measures to meet or beat budgeted costs.
• Establish and maintain job cost reporting in accordance with company policy. Approve the conversion of bid documents to the various cost codes in the Job Cost Statement and prepare monthly Job Status Reports for review by management.

Scheduling

• Develop comprehensive execution plans, schedules, and critical path actions for unit shutdowns, overhauls, and restarts.
• Ensure turnaround work processes are effectively managed in accordance with customer workflow process.
• Schedule and coordinate all resources as needed to meet requirements of all sites.

Quality

• Ensure projects are completed to all applicable quality requirements.
• Ensure the sites process for inspection of work is comprehensive, meets the contract requirements, and is timely administered
• Periodic reviews of inspection documentation to assure policy and contract requirements are met, inclusive of verifying there is a robust process for follow up inspections on all non-compliant work.

Relationships

• Develop and maintain the trust of the customers and engineers.
• Reviews strategic plan initiatives with key customers, ensuring alignment and progress to Strategic Plans.
• Ensures Austin’s site leader is in good standing with customer staff.

Safety and Environmental

Craft Helper

Assist Craft Journeyman in the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Assist in the diagnosis ofmalfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and assist in correcting the problem. Zachry Group is seeking a Construction Coordinator (Change Management) for our construction projects to manage the cost and recovery of extra work/transfer of scope caused by Vendors, Subcontractors, Engineers or Client. This position reports directly to the Change Management Lead. Task assignments include: Investigating extra work issues to determine the cause and avenue for cost recovery by reviewing Contracts, Consortium, Joint Venture contract and purchase agreements along with the technical details, drawings, specifications, codes and standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

Zachry is seeking an experienced Construction Craft Rep to assist the Craft Supervision team (General Foremen, Foremen and Superintendents) with craft work planning, earned value, quantity management, document management, procurement/material management, cost management and technical support. A successful Construction Craft Rep interfaces well with the Craft Supervision team, Design Engineers, and other members of the project team.  Specific task assignments includeMaterial Takeoffs (MTOs), progress measurement and reporting, development of material requisitions, utilizationof 4D modeling program, review of cost codes, communication of design drawing and specification requirements and submittal of time sheets. The Construction Craft Rep reports directly to the Planning Lead and has overall responsibility for supporting the build ofInstallation Work Packages (IWPs) and maintaining IWP’s for progress and updates.  The Construction Craft Rep is expected to support the development of plans based upon the project schedule and their craft superintendent’s execution strategy.  There will be multiple craft reps on site to support the superintendents and the planner assigned to a craft.

Technical Track (Level 1 Planner)

• Journeyman tradesperson (or equivalent) for 3 years minimum.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform constructability analysis on high levelConstruction Work Packages (CWPs) and develop electronic package.

• Support the development of CWPs into IWPs with input from Superintendent.

• Track missing material/equipment for IWPs within 90 days of the plan.

• Estimate resource requirements for each IWP and verify with the General Foreman.  

• Work with other craft reps and Workface Planners from other disciplines to ensure that the execution sequence is logical and well-coordinated.

• Verify Materialfor each IWP and load into the project progressing database (if not using a software program that performs this task).

• Identify constraints and mitigate or verify prior to scheduling the package for execution. (materials, scaffold, equipment, tools, etc.)

• Issue Bill of Materials to Material Management for Trial Allocation and fulfilment of material for IWP’s

• Develop, issue, and track IWP’s.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing critical technical functions, managing engineering projects, testing equipment, handling repairs, and conducting thorough site inspections. This role bridges the gap between technical theory and practical application, requiring you to engage directly with clients, ensure regulatory compliance, conduct feasibility studies, and solve complex problems on-site.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Surveying & Control Management

• Horizontal Control: Establish project Horizontal Control, verify the accuracy of consultant-provided control, create working control points, and continuously maintain horizontal alignment.

• Vertical Control: Establish project Vertical Control, verify consultant-provided control accuracy, establish working benchmarks, and continuously maintain vertical data.

• Site Grading & Layout: Conduct fine grading operations, level decks, and grade columns independently. Establish secondary benchmarks, horizontal/vertical control, offsets, and column lines.

Equipment Care & Maintenance

• Total Station Instruments: Manage the care, maintenance, and operation of instruments. Visually inspect equipment for damage, check optical plummets, calibrate instrument collimation, and set temperature and pressure corrections.

• Auto Level Equipment: Handle the care and maintenance of auto levels. Execute and adjust three-wire level loops, compute tangent grades, plot cross-sections, determine earthwork requirements, and interpret contour maps.

Calculations & Materials Management

• Quantity Estimation: Compute concrete quantities required for daily pours, slabs, and columns.

• Pour Tracking: Accurately track and compute concrete volume and delivery during active pours.

Technical & Engineering Skills

• Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret complex Structural, Architectural, and Shop Drawings. Coordinate across multiple drawing sets to identify and resolve potential conflicts.

• Independent Layouts: Provide accurate layouts from drawings without supervision, including footings, columns, and building lines. Establish vertical dimensions from designated finished floor elevations.
