Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

JOB OVERVIEW:

Provides input and technical expertise for utility-scale solar EPC construction projects. Support of Engineering review, procurement (if necessary), construction, and start-up of a high or medium voltage electrical system and associated substation (if necessary).

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Concrete Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all projects, field crews, and foreman. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Estimate projects in accordance with Primoris Policies and Procedures.
• Is assigned as Lead Estimator and is responsible for generating the project estimate under close and direct supervision of the Estimating Manager.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
  • Prepares estimating takeoffs from the drawings and specifications working with Engineering and CAD designers.
  • Analyzes regional labor rates and per diems to be used in the estimate.
  • Obtains quotations from vendors and subcontractors for materials and performance of tasks not being self-performed.
  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Participates in external/client discussions with Proposal Manager. At Proposal Manager’s discretion will lead parts of the conversation.
• Participates in schedule development under supervision of Proposal and Estimating Managers.
• Has basic knowledge of company level unit costs, efficiencies, work instructions, and business processes.
• Assigned indicative pricing requests as needed under supervision of Estimating Manager.
• Can solve some problems with assistance from Estimating Manager.
• Ability to travel to project sites to understand construction sequence, means and methods, site conditions and perform time-studies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Prefer BS degree in a business or engineering disciplined program.
• Preference given for experience in Solar, Renewable Energy, or Power Generation
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience, 3-4 years preferred in estimating solar construction projects
• Working knowledge of estimating fundamentals
• Working knowledge of estimated software programs (B2W or WinEst preferred) and MS office application proficiency
• Demonstrated skills in oral communications; ability to make presentations to large, diverse groups.
• Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
• General understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus and Unit contract pricing mechanisms.

Austin Bridge & Road is currently seeking experienced Concrete Finishers for our North Texas Concrete Paving projects. We excel at what we do and are looking for talented construction professionals that want to excel with us.

The Concrete Finisher is responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks to specified textures, using hand tools or power tools, including floats, trowels and screeds.

Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms. Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms, using rake or shovel. Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using hand-held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping. Smooth and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straightedge and float or power screed. Finishes concrete surfaces using power trowel, or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish. Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, using grinder or power chisel and hammer, and parches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound. Molds expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, Jointers and straightedge. May sprinkle colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish.

• Assist paving crew with site preparation and any other activity as needed
• Participate as a vital team member, contributing towards Austin’s success
• Attend daily safety meetings
• Follow safety policies and procedures
• Work hours adjusted to meet the project’s needs; days, nights and weekends
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions, hot or cold temperatures
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 1+years of experience operating asphalt equipment
• Must have a strong commitment to jobsite safety
• Diligent in demonstrating safe work practices.
