Project Overview:

Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on TerraPower’s Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funding to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. TerraPower, a leading advanced generation technology company founded by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, will be deploying its 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium. The Natrium plant features an advanced, cost-competitive reactor design that is safer, simpler, easier, and less costly to construct, less expensive to operate, and able to provide energy that is competitive with fossil fuels. It also features an innovative molten salt energy storage system designed to be complementary to solar and wind power by evening out the peaks and valleys in production when the sun is not shining, or the wind is not blowing. With the reactor and energy storage output combined, the plant can produce more than 500 MWe of power.

Other Natrium partners include GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Energy Northwest, PacifiCorp, and Duke Energy, along with support from a number of national laboratories and universities. Job Summary:

As aSenior Mechanical Engineer, you will support the development of Mechanical systems and equipment for the project by preparing studies, piping and instrumentation diagrams, calculations, engineering specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, performing technical bid evaluations, and more in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements with limited oversight. We are currently seeking a Senior Project Accountant for our Transportation Group in Cincinnati, OH.

The Senior Accountant manages the accounting for a mega-project and/or multiple large projects. This individual is independent and maintains good rapport with project staff and the business group Accounting Manager and Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews and processes subcontracts, subcontract change orders and Performance and Payment bonds to ensure they are in compliance with specified terms.

• Collects and reviews project subcontractor/supplier lien waivers.

• Collects, reviews, and processes subcontractor/supplier monthly project invoices. Needs to ensure all invoices have been accrued properly and timely to the correct cost reports and phase codes. Ensures proper payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers.

• Individual exhibits a high level understanding of the Walsh cost report and all of the Accounting functions related to the costs posted to the cost report.

• Individual has a strong understanding of the Walsh monthly P&L process and ensures timely submittal of project P&Ls and reviews the P&Ls for accuracy.

• Processes cost transfers on project cost report for Project Management staff.

• This position requires an in depth monthly analysis of the owner billing and ability to produce owner billing independently, when applicable.

• Collects, reviews and submits monthly owner billings to the Accounting Manager or Controller for processing.

• Monitors cash flow and communicates with the project staffs on tracking A/R and when the projects are paid.

• Works independently and manages the Accounting operations for mega-projects or multiple large projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related field

• Minimum 5 years-experience in construction accounting or related field

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage direct reports and lead interdisciplinary teams to establish construction methods and support activities. Major Responsibilities:

Chief Construction Engineer

• Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback
• Develops and recommends the construction staffing plan for approval by Manager of Construction and prepares employee requisitions.
• Directs construction activities of the assigned GBU construction staff, ensuring compliance with GBU Quality Management System
• Establishes working relationships with GBU Functional teams
• Approves staffing requisitions as delegated by the Manager of Construction.

Construction Operations Manager

• Provides consultation, technical guidance and direction to Construction and other support functions
• Manages the successful completion of activities related to the construction of assigned projects
• Assists in development of standard construction method
• Oversees the review of standard plans and specifications for constructability
• Reviews and evaluates new methods and concepts

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Owns site services execution end-to-end—deep knowledge of temporary facilities, utilities, camps, transportation, logistics, waste, catering, security, communications, and site support systems.
• Plans and scales services with the job—aligns services to manpower ramps, shifts, and phase changes so site operations never become a productivity constraint.
• Leads site services teams and vendors—manages subcontractors, service providers, and internal teams; enforces SLAs, safety, and performance standards.
