This person will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantles tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required in the Scaffolding craft. Technical Leadership

• Lead the design and specification of instrumentation and control systems including DCS, PLC, SIS, and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities:
Assists the superintendent in the following:

• Reviews record documents, submittals, shop drawings, and schematics to determine the nature and scope of the project, the materials to be utilized, manpower requirements (by craft) for each construction phase, equipment needs, etc.

• In charge of the overall safety of the jobsite, including the implementation of the safety plans and procedures
• Orders self-performed building materials, supplies, and small tools from approved suppliers
• Inspects all field construction work in progress, including work that is subcontracted, and ensures that uniformly high-quality workmanship is maintained during each construction segment, pointing out deficiencies promptly to responsible parties and follows up to ensure that deficiencies are corrected
• Provides technical guidance and assistance in resolving day-to-day construction problems encountered and investigates alternative work methods and materials that will improve efficiency and work quality, working closely with architects, engineers, and consulting firms as necessary
• Monitors weekly labor costs for accuracy and conformance with established budget and takes corrective action to improve productivity when labor costs exceed expected norms; investigates reasons for delays in the construction schedule, adjusting leadership, crew sizes, equipment, and other factors as necessary
• Throughout the project, monitors equipment use, maintenance, and cost

Civil Carpenter

We have an exciting opportunity for aCommercial Plumbing Sales/ Estimator located in Milwaukee, WI.

How you will contribute:

Leverage your persuasion and relationship management skills through developing and growing a customer base focused on plumbing construction projects. Apply your estimating abilities through performing preliminary estimates for projects. You will review bid requests and gather drawings/specs, build estimates, and prepare proposals. You will be responsible for providing timely and accurate estimates within the specifications and customer requirements of each project. The Construction Sales Representative is a technical expert and is, therefore, a key participant in bid/no bid decisions, in partnership with management.You will spend your time meeting with customers establishing/maintaining relationships and generating sales; estimating plumbing projects; and handling transitions to the project management team. Ahern offers the support of subject matter experts in the area of design and estimating for more challenging projects. You will have the ability to influence the financial performance of Milwaukee, WI regional work while assuming an active role in managing plumbing projects in conjunction with a Designer and Ahern’s field plumbing talent.

What you need to qualify:

Ahern will make the most out of your sales and estimating skills with plumbing related projects. You will need knowledge of plumbing codes, basic understanding of design and basic understanding of how to put together a disciplined estimate. Must have excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
